Little Green Footballs (I know, right?):
A classic example of right wing cognitive dissonance, from the site of raving freakazoid nut sandwich Glenn Beck
[…] Notice that he has his finger on the trigger, violating the first rule of firearm safety.
I first noticed this congnitive dissonance on reddit. But now this dumbass went so far as to try and memory hole the image, and failed miserably.
What he probably never bothered to consider is that the joke isn’t about an image of a gun, it was about him. Glenn is just a laughable clown in most of those poses and he knows it. But his shtick is getting tired, and I am personally convinced that in the event of a psycho person popping off rounds in his vicinity, Glenn Beck and his holstered machismo would be booking out in the opposite direction… tears streaming down those delicate doughy cheeks, smearing the pancake makeup.
The reality is that people across the U.S. are looking at this tragic shooting as a wake-up call on their own response, and as a result the resounding answer: Crazy people have guns, sane people probably should as well.
One-day sales of handguns in Arizona jumped 60 percent on Jan. 10 compared with the corresponding Monday a year ago, the second-biggest increase of any state in the country, according to Federal Bureau of Investigation data. From a year earlier, handgun sales ticked up yesterday 65 percent in Ohio, 16 percent in California, 38 percent in Illinois and 33 percent in New York, the FBI data show, and increased nationally about 5 percent.
Poor Glenn, the scrutiny wasn’t about the gun, it was always about him.
I really hope this is a trend.
