Faith and Traditions Against War

For many years, and especially in the past 10 years, many so called “Christians” have been supporting the military actions of the United States government. Some do so because of belief that “those guys over there (wherever there happens to be) want to kill us.” And often ask the flawed question, “would you rather fight them over here or over there?” to justify their support for sending troops around the world to kill “the enemy.”

Sadly, many of these “Christians” believe it is somehow not “murder” if people are killed during “war.” They conveniently forget parts of the Bible such as:

“Whoever sheds man’s blood, his blood shall be shed by man. For He made man in the image of God.”Genesis 9:6

“You shall not murder.”Exodus 20:13

“And do not kill the innocent and the righteous; for I will not justify the wicked.”Exodus 23:7

Many of these “Christians” also forget the words of the Messiah who said:

“Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called sons of God.”(Matthew 5:9)

“…And one of them, a lawyer, questioned Him, testing Him, and saying, ‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?’ And Yeshua said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments all the Law and the Prophets hang.”(Mathew 22:35-40)

“I give a new commandment to you, that you should love one another; according as I loved you, you should also love one another. By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love among one another.”(John 13:34-35)

Somehow the people supporting preemptive wars of aggression will also justify in their mind that the people being killed are the enemy and “deserve” to die, again forgetting the words of the Messiah:

“but I say to you, Love your enemies; bless those cursing you, do well to those hating you; and pray for those abusing and persecuting you.”(Matthew 5:44)

Judaism and Christianity are not the only faiths that have teachings against murder. Jain scripture says:

“The essence of right conduct is not to injure anyone; one should know only this, that non-injury is religion.” (Naladiyar 14-15)

The Qur’an says, “Do not kill any soul, which God has made forbidden, except in just cause.” (Sura 17.33)

And “He who kills a soul unless it be (in legal punishment) for murder or for causing disorder and corruption on the earth will be as if he had killed all humankind.”(Sura 5.32)

The Scripture for Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism additionally have teachings against war and murder.

If nearly every religious scripture has teachings opposing unjust war and murder, then why do so many religious people tolerate and support unjust wars?

  1. What’s really eye-opening is the recent rapid rise of Dominionism just within the last 20 years. There are people who think Christians should rule the earth (everyone else can just die, but they won’t come out and say it like that) and they definitely use dog whistles in their political language.

    This article has more:

    1. Pagan catholicism and her harlot christian daughters are but religious systems, all of which are of and in this wicked, evil world!

Multiplied millions have been killed and enslaved in the name of the gods of relgion for they all believe in death!

And so the fruit of death is born of religion’s way,
Because life is but a pawn in the wicked game they play ;-(

So it is that “The Way of Truth is evil spoken of” ;-(

“Come Out of her, MY people”!

“Come Out” of the systems that are of this wicked, evil world(babylon) and especially it’s systems of religion!

      Father Help!       and HE does…….

  2. Sadly there are multitudes whose god is but the colored marks written on a dead tree and bound in a book.

A book which would rightly be called “catholic canon”!

And each and every translation of the pagan “catholic canon” is biased and has been perverted in accordance with the religious dogma of the translators”!
Most serve a god who is naught but words, yet they never take heed unto the words so how then can they expect to receive of the “strong meat” needful for those who would follow The Messiah on “”The Way to The Truth of The Life”?
    A prime example:
“These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
But the anointing which you have received of HIM(Our Father) abides in you, and you do not need any man to teach you, but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is Truth, and is no lie, even as it has taught you, so you will abide in HIM(Our Father).” (IJohn 2:26-27)
    “Love your enemies”!
    “Love not the world”!
“Whoever would be a friend of this world is the enemy of GOD”!
“Come Out of her, MY people”!
“Come Out” of the systems that are of this wicked evil world, and especially it’s systems of religion!
For Faith will not create a religion!
    Faith IS Family!
The Family of GOD, “of WHOM the whole Family in Heaven and on earth is named”!
    Father Help!       and HE does…….

    1. I grew up going to Greek Orthodox church. Even they break this rule on a ridiculous level:

“You shall not make My Father’s House a house of trade.” (John 2:16 RSV)

The church is always trying to institutionalize love-spreading, and institutions tend attract unsavory characters due to the nature of anonymity within an institution.

Solution: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only
what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son
