Science and religion preference order of our HoT brotherhood

In considering our Quantcast stats, I’m glad science and technology are represented not once, but twice, over religion. Good to know I’m attracting like-minded, scientific people rather than those who put faith before logic:

Please note: these numbers have little bearing on anything, other than a preference order determination of the majority of us on the site (the algorithm is a mystery). And yes, I am an incurable numbers junkie…

Feel free to post religious screeds: I’m tolerant of religion, just gloating a bit at our composition (which I approve).

I've published HoT along with about 300+ friends since 2002. We're all Americans who are snarky and love our country. I'm a libertarian that registered Republican because I like to win elections. That's pretty much it.

  1. I really feel like government and religion are cousins in some way. Both rely on faith without reason. Both offer “answers” without good supporting evidence, and even in contradiction to evidence. Both make you feel like your little compared to “them”. Both are dis-empowering. Both want you under their thumb.

    1. It was Dostoevsky (Crime and Punishment) who wrote in The Brothers Karamazov, I paraphrase slightly: the state always tries to become a church, and the church always tries to become a state.

      Power and worship.
