A recent Gallup poll shows that Obama continues to have solid support from blacks. On the flip side, whites and hispanics are losing their faith in droves with each new month that passes. Our favorite windbag Bill O’Reilly seems to think it’s because blacks think a strong federal government is beneficial to them because civil rights was won at a national level. But I think it has more to to with the fact that 1) Obama is black and 2) Obama is a democrat (Clinton also carried a black majority, whereas Bush’s approval was low not more than a year after 9/11).
So pick a choice:
1) Blacks are largely conned by the system and can’t see beyond race or party affiliation
2) This poll is a lie, there’s some huge conspiracy, yadda yadda
I’m leaning towards this poll being legit, but it’s rather disconcerting that 4 out of 5 blacks are willfully blind to the disconnect between Obama’s rhetoric and his actual results.
UPDATE: a little clarification… I’m not trying to race-bait the issue here, but on it’s face this is an issue of race and think it merits some honest discussion. I have black friends and neighbors and can without any doubt say I have more in common with them than any black or white guy in the White House.
