Unconfirmed Report: Kubby Released

The following is still unconfirmed, but from a generally reliable source:

Steve Kubby was just released from prison by the Sheriff and jailers, on Monday evening, March 6th.

The reason for his removal was “due to overcrowding”.

Steve is staying with a friend. He is due to appear in court again on March 15th.

More details to follow…

The good news is now confirmed by Richard Cowan:

I just spoke with a very happy Steve Kubby, who was released from Placer County jail this afternoon, where he had been held since January 27th, following his expulsion from Canada on January 26th.

I’ll post additional details as they become available.

I like tasteful cigars, private property, American whiskey, fast cars, hot women, pre-bailout Jeeps, fine dining, worthwhile literature, low taxes, original music, personal privacy and self-defense rights -- but not necessarily in this order.

  1. While Kubby.com has not been updated with news of Steve’s release, the last update stated that he would have run out of Marinol today. Combine this with the HoT post that he was getting sicker, and the possiblity that the government really didn’t want to martyr anyone after last night’s 60 Minutes broadcast becomes a bit stronger.

  2. Interesting point, Artus. A friend that I haven’t heard from in a while actually called me out of the blue specifically to tell me Emery was on. It seems a lot of people saw that. Good.

  3. Well, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve attracted national attention… props to you both, Stephen and Mike, for putting up the relevant articles.
