  1. The mistake that socialist countries make is assuming that Americans are mostly poor. In fact, we have one of the highest average yearly incomes of any nation in the world, and some of the lowest tax rates.

    Thus, we can afford a higher quality of healthcare, one that the state is simply unable to subsidize in other nations.

    Also, the concept of medical insurance as a necessity is rare in other nations. But once you have it, you are guaranteed quality health care so long as you have your job or can pay your premium. Of course the uninsured are not without luck, we also have a number of free and reduced cost clinics, albeit with lower quality care.
