Ron Paul Wins GOP Primary

The results aren’t all reported yet, but Ron Paul has a picked up a wide enough margin (more accurately, a landslide) to easily call him the winner. The first article I found relating to Dr. Paul’s race has this minor report:

The former wife of Frank Sinatra Jr., Houston attorney Cynthia Sinatra, was unsuccessful in her bid to unseat District 14 Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Surfside, who often votes against his party because of his strict views on spending.

Let’s hope his success continues until November.

  1. “who often votes against his party because of his strict views on spending.”

I guess they removed that line for some reason.

  2. It would expose the Republican record. We can’t have that. Blame it on the “Liberal Media”, rather than the Managed Statist Media.

  3. Mike,

Perhaps Dr. Paul prefers to win and be a libertarian — as opposed to losing with a big L for a handle.

Despite my strong LP ties, I vote for the man (and his plan) and am not stuck on party ideology.

  4. Matt – he did run for President.

Mike – he ran as a Libertarian and lost.

Stephen – thanks for passing along the good news.

You don’t have to agree with Ron Paul 100% of the time to realize that he’s the conscience of the Congress (maybe the country). It does far more good having him there with any label than having him out tilting at electoral windmills with a big L on his shirt.

  5. Dr. Paul is the only congressman left that has any shred of decency and integrity. He is NOT the voice of America, as evidenced by the fact that there are not more like him in congress and we have the current welfare/warfare state. I have enormous respect for him. Unfortunately, his cries fall on deaf ears, and the U.S. is like the Titanic heading for the iceberg. At least the guy is giving us advanced warning of the inevitable financial disaster about the befall us. Hats off to Ron Paul.
