Great YouTubed Historical Vid (until they censor it)

Here’s Frank Zappa being libertarian, political and funny as hell all at the same time. From the YouTube description:

On February 14, 1986, the Maryland State Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on a bill proposed by delegate Judith Toth to modify the existing state pornography statute so as to include records, tapes and CDs. (…)

H/T to Casey.

I like tasteful cigars, private property, American whiskey, fast cars, hot women, pre-bailout Jeeps, fine dining, worthwhile literature, low taxes, original music, personal privacy and self-defense rights -- but not necessarily in this order.

  1. Frank, we sure could use a guy like you right about now. You are and always will be sorely missed.

  2. I miss that guy too – a true classic. Can you imagine having a Zappa-type ‘witness’ during the ridiculous Congressional hearings on steroids in baseball or oil company profits…we definitely need more of those.

  3. Jeez…nice command of the english language. I meant we need more people like HIM, not more of ‘those’..

  4. Zappa called it in the Crossfire vid., “fascist theocracy”. Take a look at their reactions to his (ACCURATE, mind you) assumptions about what America was to become.
