First Day on the New Job

Today was/is my official first day on the new job at LPHQ. We managed to get out a web release on stolen identification data and a blog entry on a review of the new Ed Thompson documentary. I’m sure Shane Cory and I will be bantering back and forth about this forever, but I still prefer WordPress to Moveable Type.

I also started work on obtaining and coordinating media for the LP Convention and was interviewed by two publications — in addition to the routine administrative tasks which needed to be done. I’m going to try to clean out my electronic inbox and finally get some laundry started. Overall, it was an enjoyable first day — and the people working in the office have been great.

Stephen Gordon

I like tasteful cigars, private property, American whiskey, fast cars, hot women, pre-bailout Jeeps, fine dining, worthwhile literature, low taxes, original music, personal privacy and self-defense rights -- but not necessarily in this order.

  1. And I think that Drupal beats WordPress OR Moveable Type…
Don’t spent your energy on it, get back to the real work of putting the words “Libertarian Party” on everyone’s lips.

  2. Congrats on the new job!! Hope all goes well for you in DC. Do not forget about us in Alabama, and drop me a line when you are back in town next.

  3. Who do I have to thank for putting the FTL logo on the front page of You?

  4. Congratulations!

Regarding the website, I suggest making the “The Blog” column header for blog topics on the right column a direct link to rather than having to go through the Media Center. I like to go to the blog homepage first before individual topics, to see if there are any new comments on topics I’m closely following.

  5. Good morning Stephen and good luck. Just a quick point before I head out. I assume you are going to contact the Portland area media regarding the convention.
Please don’t forget the Columbian newspaper in Vancouver.
They seem to lean a bit in our direction, which is nice.
    Thank you,
    Michael Wilson

  6. Oops. Just to clarify that’s Vancouver, Washington across the Columbia River from Portland,Fifteen minutes from downtown Portland, not Vancouver, B.C. Canada.
    Thanks and sorry for that.

  7. My question has now been answered, Shane Cory was responsible, and I have sent him thanks!

  8. Congratulations on your new position! I know you will do an excellent job and I hope it will be enjoyable.
