Bush: Of God, evil or both at the same time?

From E&P:

Bush also explained, in unusually stark terms, how his belief in God influences his foreign policy. “I base a lot of my foreign policy decisions on some things that I think are true,” he said. “One, I believe there’s an Almighty. And, secondly, I believe one of the great gifts of the Almighty is the desire in everybody’s soul, regardless of what you look like or where you live, to be free.

“I believe liberty is universal. I believe people want to be free. And I know that democracies do not war with each other.”

The opposing view:

I like tasteful cigars, private property, American whiskey, fast cars, hot women, pre-bailout Jeeps, fine dining, worthwhile literature, low taxes, original music, personal privacy and self-defense rights -- but not necessarily in this order.

  1. “I base a lot of my foreign policy decisions on some things that I think are true.”

What are the rest of them based on? Power-lust?

  2. Look, anyone can claim they believe in God… merely to get the sheeple to jump on board and agree with whatever they do. Merely claiming they are ‘X’ doesn’t mean they are ‘X’.

IMHO. Bush is not a Christian, he just conveniently uses that card and plays along to pander to the Repubs who are to niave and stupid to realize they’ve all been had.

  3. Sorry, but dropping a 500 pound bomb on a house full of people suspected of containing insurgents doesn’t strike me as Christ-like activity.
