Bush’s GD Constitution: Fake Quote, Real Actions

Bush at national archivesIn response to the Capitol Hill Blue muckity-muck, one blogger wrote a letter to her senator:

Dear Senator Kyl,

This article has been going around the internet for the last week – LINK

It claims that the President said, “Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

My initial thought was to immediately dismiss it as liberal nonsense, and can find no other citation to it other than this one site. However, it has spread like wildfire and has over 11,000 hits on Google at the moment.

I am hoping that you can verify for me that this anonymous eyewitness account is wrong, but if now that you can provide for me the context in which it was said. I refuse to believe that our President believes this statement to be true, and am asking for your help to correct this in whatever way I can.

Thank you Sir, for your time, and all that you do for Arizona and America.

Like I said before, the quote is dubious and CHB has it’s credibility problems, but actions tend to speak louder than any words (that’s probably why so many people have no problem swallowing the quote).

  1. I’ve got to agree, fabricated or not, the quote indubitable reflects the _mind_ of president Bush.

Then again, the government has never had any qualms about breaking its own laws, in most politician’s opinions, the law is there to restrict YOU, not them.

  2. Hey, thanks for linking to my post with my letter! Just one comment, I’m a her, not a his! ;)

I was glad to find your original post on this topic. I’ll be sure to post the reply I get from Senator Kyl.

  3. Since this report is making the rounds to such a degree why doesn’t the mainline “reputable” media dig into it to either confirm or deny it? Is it not because they have been bought and sold and the Bush agenda is their agenda?.
