Congratulations reader, you get to witness the first ever Hammer of Truth attack on Hillary Clinton. I’m not sure why she’s been able to fly under my posting radar for so long. Perhaps she hasn’t been saying incredibly stupid things recently, saving it up for this remarkable (and socialist) edict that she landed at a Democratic fundraiser. SFGate has the context in:
“Many of you are well enough off that … the tax cuts may have helped you,” Sen. Clinton said. “We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” [emphasis added]
Instead of going into an anti-Hillary tirade, I’m going to take a cue from Professor Bainbridge’s post in the same subject:. I’m going to slowly lower my clenched fist away from my monitor and respond with a coherent rebuttal from the trove of Ayn Rand:
“When ‘the common good’ of a society is regarded as something apart from and superior to the individual good of its members, it means that the good of some men takes precedence over the good of others, with those others consigned to the status of sacrificial animals.”
And you probably thought the philosophy-spouting wackjobs were limited to the Republican Party?
