Bush on Trade Deficit: “Easy to Resolve”

Bush unveils his plan to curb the trade deficit (via The Poor Man) with a simple axiom:

Bush noted that in addition to the budget deficit, America suffers from a huge trade deficit.

“That’s easy to resolve,” Bush said. “People can buy more United States products if they’re worried about the trade deficit.”

I mean, seriously, why haven’t those activist economists come out and said this? If those people in the rest of the world would stop selling us cheap products and buy more of our expensive products, that would totally solve the problem. Heck, this stuff is easier than I thought, next on our agenda is solving world hunger: If you are hungry you should go get something to eat.
