Broken Intarweb = No Updates

I’m sure some of you were wondering if the last post was my version of a blog suicide letter where I would act like some prima donna and stop posting merely because my ego is not being stroked with constant feedback (by the way, thanks). But, fear not, I may be a prima donna, but my absence was only mere, humorous conincidence, with such wonderful technical crap happening that I can harldy hold back.

First, my laptop up and died, but OS X is smart, so it only took half a day to get it fully recovered. Plus, the only stuff that truly had to be reinstalled was my theme manager and Macromedia (which is what killed updates). Actually, it was painless, so I shouldn’t complain about this one, but it was quite funny how panicked I was when the damn thing kept booting to console, and no passwords were working, and I couldn’t find the recover disk, and I had no idea how bad the problem was.

Secondly, some of you may have also noticed that a difference site was loading, with different content (a broken WordPress installation)… or your RSS feeds were borked. Well that’s because I was going to move my hosting over to Yahoo! Hosting, except they don’t even allow .htaccess, so screw that shit. DNS has been changed back, but while it only took 15 minutes to propogate, it’s seeming to take 48 hrs to revert everywhere, go figure. The funny confluence here is that Yahoo will not let you set up MySQL until the DNS is set up, and even then it won’t let you do it. So, I was connecting to the MySQL server on my laptop, which went away when I tried to reboot (queue problem #1).

Anyways, everything is stable again on this end, so there will be some posts today.
