I want a 3D printer. I want a really good one. This is in my bucket list:

Eight months ago, Cody Wilson set out to create the world’s first entirely 3D-printable handgun.

Now he has.

Early next week, Wilson, a 25-year-old University of Texas law student and founder of the non-profit group Defense Distributed, plans to release the 3D-printable CAD files for a gun he calls “the Liberator,” pictured in its initial form above. He’s agreed to let me document the process of the gun’s creation, so long as I don’t publish details of its mechanics or its testing until it’s been proven to work reliably and the file has been uploaded to Defense Distributed’s online collection of printable gun blueprints at Defcad.org.

I hope technology can outrun tyranny.

Aaron Tobey claimed in a civil rights lawsuit (.pdf) that in 2010 he was handcuffed and held for about 90 minutes by the Transportation Security Administration at the Richmond International Airport after he began removing his clothing to display on his chest a magic-marker protest of airport security measures.

“Amendment 4: The right of the people to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated,” his chest and gut read.

In sending the case to trial, unless there’s a settlement, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 and reversed a lower court judge and invoked Benjamin Franklin in the process. According to the opinion by Judge Roger Gregory:

Here, Mr. Tobey engaged in a silent, peaceful protest using the text of our Constitution—he was well within the ambit of First Amendment protections. And while it is tempting to hold that First Amendment rights should acquiesce to national security in this instance, our Forefather Benjamin Franklin warned against such a temptation by opining that those ‘who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.’ We take heed of his warning and are therefore unwilling to relinquish our First Amendment protections—even in an airport.

Hopefully more young adults will take the torch and push back. They are our best hope to defeat a tyrannical government. The lawmakers, regulators and enforcers should be very wary of what is coming from the agitated young adults if they do not back off their brown shirt jackboot tactics against common citizens.

Tobey is a true American patriot and hero. He stood up for his rights, made a statement to the pat down thugs while doing so and was arrested for exercising his Constitutionally guaranteed rights.

The United States Department of Homeland Security has stated a rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO (compatible with .223) with a magazine capacity of 30 rounds is “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters…”

Well smack me up-side the head. First, a hat tip to Breitbart’s Awr Hawkins who pointed us to a posted General Services Administration (GSA) business opportunity solicitation posted and updated last summer. Basically, the site posts a request for proposal (RFP) for personal defense weapons for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The irony is staggering. The actual text from Solicitation HSCEMS-12-R-00011 has been excellently marked up by Radio Vice Online’s Steve McGough:

Notice the term assault weapon or assault rifle is not used anywhere in the document. The “assault weapon” terminology is only used for non-LEOs and non-military who own those firearms.

The scope of this contract is to provide a total of up to 7,000 5.56x45mm North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) personal defense weapons (PDW) throughout the life of this contract to numerous Department of Homeland Security components. …

In paragraph 3.1 under requirements and testing standards we read…

DHS and its components have a requirement for a 5.56x45mm NATO, select-fire firearm suitable for personal defense use in close quarters and/or when maximum concealment is required.

Isn’t that inconvenient for the gun control politicians? In requirement paragraph 3.9.10, they find a need for a 30-round magazine.

The action shall be capable of accepting all standard NATO STANAG 20 and 30 round M16 magazines (NSN 1005-00-921-5004) and Magpul 30 round PMAG (NSN 1005-01-576-5159). The magazine well shall be designed to allow easy insertion of a magazine.

In paragraph 3.21.2, they again specify the requirement for a 30-round magazine.

The magazine shall have a capacity to hold thirty (30) 5.56x45mm NATO rounds.

If you did not catch the interesting part in one of the quoted sentences above, let me point it out to you. The personal defense weapon should be select-fire capable.

The action shall be select-fire (capable of semi-automatic and automatic fire).

From the Fire Control Section, paragraph 3.10.1.

The fire control selector shall have three positions; safe, semi-automatic, and automatic. The selector shall have positions which are clearly labeled for the mode of fire.

This formal DHS RFP – which is specific concerning requirements – clearly indicates a select-fire rifle is appropriate for personal defense in close quarters.

They will get the good stuff, a selector switch for full auto to blow through all 30 rounds of each magazine included in the request in no time flat. We have to pull the trigger one shot at a time yet ours are the “assault weapons,” not “personal defense weapons,” when we own the same firearm minus the full auto design.

Are they planning on going to war? It sure would seem that way with the ammo they recently purchased.

Who will be the enemy? Those who have only “assault weapons” that fire one shot at a time? I believe the DHS should have the term “assault weapons” since they are the assaulters and we should get the term “personal defense weapons” to defend ourselves and our families.

California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein staged a dramatic press conference Thursday on Capitol Hill with 10 weapons at her side and unveiled legislation instituting a government ban on more than 150 types of firearms, including rifles, pistols and shotguns.

Flanked by other anti-gun liberal lawmakers, including New York Sen. Chuck Schumer and Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin, Feinstein announced the introduction of the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2013.”

The legislation being pushed by Feinstein — who has long history of calling for gun bans — would prohibit the sale, transfer, importation and manufacture of certain firearms.

I’m going to become an outlaw. How many millions of Americans are going to join me? Yep, let’s all roll over and be compliant. Nope, will never happen. I see financial opportunity here. Who else does?

I will bet the 150 firearms listed are not a complete list. There are many others.

We can see this is being done by a bunch of rank amateurs when it comes to firearms and ammo. Let’s not tell them how stupid they are.

House: 37 Democrats, 28 Republicans

Senate: 20 Democrats, 15 Republicans

Those in the Colorado State Legislature will pass any legislation they want and Democrat Governor John Hickenlooper will sign it. Anything is possible in the next few months so brace yourselves. Legislation that is sure to be passed without much effort are: Gun control; Homosexual marriages/civil unions; In-state tuition rates at state colleges and universities for illegal immigrants.

What else will be passed? Anything they want to pass and ram down our throats. I predict TABOR will be ignored with plenty of new taxes (they will call them fees or maybe not this session). This will be history in the making this year.

There is no stopping them this time, even in the courts, because most of the local State Courts, the State Appeals Court and the State Supreme Court are all controlled by progressive/leftist/socialist judges.

The only Colorado State offices still controlled by Republicans are the Secretary of State, State Treasurer and State Attorney General. They are all up for re-election in two years. Unless something huge happens in the next two years all those offices will go Democrat.

What do I think? It does not matter. What matters is the majority of voters in Colorado want this and are excited with the unlimited possibilities this brings for a socialist Colorado.

Over the next couple of years, Barack Obama wants to raise the national debt to $18.9 trillion or so.

John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the congressional Republicans want to raise the national debt to $18.4 trillion or so.

The present leadership of the Republican Party has gone from making the case that government is the problem and the American people are the solution to making the case that Democratic controlled government is the problem and Republican controlled government is the solution.

By giving up on making the case that government is the problem and pivoting to “Democrats are the problem,” the Republican Party has failed the American people. Historically, when parties lost, their leadership went and hid for an appropriate amount of time under a rock after an acceptance of blame and a resignation.

The present Republican leaders in Washington, instead of hiding under a rock, have taken to standing on the rock and demanding conservatives self flagellate. Neither John Boehner nor Mitch McConnell are visionaries. They are survivors. They survive by recognizing the biggest threat to them and trying to befriend it or neutralize it.

Right now, both see conservatives as their biggest threat, not Barack Obama. Why? Because while Barack Obama maintains the White House, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell maintain their positions of power. They exist for power, not for vision. The visions they articulate are routinely backpedaled. Remember the pledge to nowhere the House Republicans concocted in 2010 as a second coming of the Contract With America? Within two months of returning to the majority they’d already ditched their pledge faster than a frat boy fleeing a one night stand. Only conservatives wish to hold them accountable for their breach of trust, thus conservatives are the threat.

The very same Republican leadership who paved the way for the rise of the Democrats in 2006 through moral opaqueness on the role of government in the lives of Americans now seek to shut up and shut out the conservatives who continue to loudly point out that the size and scope of the federal leviathan has grown too unwieldy.

I joined the Republican Party in 1964 and voted for Barry Goldwater, a man ahead of his times. The Republican Party was not what it should have been for years after the Goldwater nomination for President and his loss.

Finally it appeared the Republican Party got its act together with Ronald Reagan. We had eight very good years. The economy was so strong even Clinton could not undo it during his eight years. Then it was downhill again.

In 2005 I quit the Republican Party and became unaffiliated and dabbled with the Libertarian Party. After Obama was elected I was convinced to rejoin in 2008, shortly after his inauguration, and really got involved, close to a full time unpaid volunteer for the tea party grassroots movement and the Republican Party internal politics.

We appeared to have momentum in our favor with our wins in 2010. We, a bunch of amateurs, did not have the Republican institutional establishment professional politicians and operatives as allies. They were our enemies and we had an uneasy alliance with them and yet I did not realize how much they rejected us as part of the process until now.

Now, here we are, could not get a grassroots candidate nominated for President, lost ground at the state and local levels, lost the Colorado House, failed to get some grassroots Congressmen re-elected, and had to live with a presidential candidate many of us did not support in the primaries but choked it down anyway and worked hard on his behalf.

In two years the odds of keeping the Colorado State Attorney General’s office, the Colorado Secretary of State and the Colorado State Treasurer may be dismal. If the Democrats succeed in taking those three offices the transition of Colorado to a socialist state (think California) will be complete and nearly perfect.

Look what we have. The big dogs in the Republican Party are having a discussion on moving to the left of center, far left, not just a tad. NO, NO, UNACCEPTABLE. If they do, that will for sure end any alliances we grassroots common, hardworking citizens have with them.

I do not blame myself or any grassroots Constitutional conservative libertarian Republicans. I blame the institutional establishment old line Republicans for being ready, willing and able to destroy the Republican Party so they could destroy us and teach us a lesson. It was a political suicide bombing of the Republican Party by Republicans with them destroying themselves to destroy us.

Now what? Quit? Never, ever quit, just figure out another strategy even if it does not include the Republican Party or mainstream politics. I predict many of us who placed everything political in working within the Republican Party are going to transition and morph into something different, what that is I do not know but it will not be the same old politics. It may be peaceful, it may not. We will see. I know I will not again make the same mistakes twice.

Fellow veterans, patriots and others

I went out this morning to display the Stars and Stripes as I have done for years to honor my fellow veterans on Veterans Day. I have always flown the flag during our holidays and special occasions. It has, in the past, been an honor to do so.

I did place the flag in its proper place and then returned to my house. After a few moments of thought and discussion with family members I returned and took the flag down. It will not be flown by me as long as this country remains a statist socialist nation.

I will not participate in the sham that has been perpetuated on us by one-half of those who voted for the socialist/Marxist in the White house. The first time they could be forgiven but this time they knew exactly what they were doing.

May the Maker of the Universe guide those who want God & family values, Constitutional restoration, individual liberty, limited government, free market economics, private property rights and a strong national defense (not nation building) to take action to do so. I am now a passive resistor. Will you join me? If not, then you are the problem, not the solution.

Many Democratic candidates running for federal, state and local offices across the country are now openly socialists/Marxists.

Those who embrace Jeffersonian classical liberalism in the Democratic Party must regain control and banish socialists/Marxists in their party to the dustbin of political history.

It is time for the Jeffersonian Democrats to have a “tea party” and take their party back from the hard left.

After this election cycle maybe they will heed the “voices in the wilderness” as we conservative libertarian “tea party” activists did.

Continue voting for socialists/Marxists and soon all the wealth will be stripped from us and transferred to the government. Then what? There will be no people left with resources to run and operate the free market engine driving our prosperity for generations.



Be careful how you vote.  Just because you are a government employee, union member or receive your income from a non-government organization depending on taxpayers’ subsidies and grants does not exempt you from the consequences of socialism.

You and I are not high enough up the food chain to be exempt from the pain and suffering that socialism/Marxism always inflicts. Only a few at the top benefit from collectivism.

We have control of the Republican Party in Colorado and are going to purge the institutional establishment rulers and power brokers from the Party. We now control the Pueblo County Republican Party.

You do know I am a Ron Paul supporter and actively campaigned and advanced his cause in the caucus and at the Pueblo County Assembly, Congressional District Assembly and the Colorado State Assembly.

I was an amateur 4 years ago. Not anymore.

What are they telling their employees to say to citizens about the meters? A pat answer, “I’m just following orders and doing my job”. That is the answer I got when recently questioning an employee about his presence at a friend’s home.

I challenge SIEA to multiple town hall meetings and make at least a one hour presentation defending “digital eyes”. After the presentation then give citizens one hour to ask questions and present evidence that “digital eyes” are intrusive and invasive on privacy and can be coupled with the digital technology now in many appliances, i.e. microprocessors, for two way communication. Let them explain to us how they will not use the information for rationing electricity by limiting a household to an arbitrary usage of so much KWH in a month and use above that limit they choose will be billed at exorbitant rates.

What about this scenario? They load shed your entire home or business because you used your ration up before the month is over and you have no electricity until the next billing cycle. You laugh and say how can they do that? The technology is readily available right off the shelf for them to add that one additional control device.

I know. I installed such devices on large commercial buildings and controlled connected loads much larger than your entire house load. The technology is known as Direct Digital Control (DDC). Do your own research. Don’t just take my word for this.

How about SIEA come out of the dark and let sunlight shine on their actions. If “digital eyes” are innocuous and safe, then let’s hear it from them. Without shining light on the subject we are led to believe they are hiding the real truth and are not coming clean with us.

If individual co-op members challenge them on installing a meter they use intimidation and threats to force us to comply and submit by threatening to shut off power and tell us we can find someone else to furnish us electricity. They even use the threat of calling law enforcement to make you submit while they install the meter. They know there is no option than their service so they appear to relish in the power and control they wield.

This fight is local and personal. SIEA is a non-government organization (NGO) acting as an agent to implement various government agendas and their own agenda. They are the ones applying the will of the out of control government agencies and entities and they happily comply.

Both Colorado Springs and El Paso County are certainly a combined emerging metropolis that is bucking all the socialists trends. The grassroots organizations and people there have been very active, successful and in your face about taking their city and county back. I live in an adjoining county and did live in Colorado Springs prior to moving to Pueblo County. If the SHTF El Paso County and Colorado Springs may become a good bug out location. Pueblo County, with a failed socialist government and a political socialist Democrat political machine, will be one of the socialist enclaves where liberty loving people will flee.

Colorado Springs now has a Police Chief who who believes in protecting and serving, not harassing, detaining and arresting. The leftist Police Chief of Colorado Springs was fired by the new Mayor, Bach, a rogue undercover cop operation was disbanded and the red light revenue generating ticket cameras were removed. Mayor Bach is a very fiscally responsible and responsive to the citizens, not a political boss. He has rooted out government rot and continues to do so. There have been those in power who are appointed and in civil service who are not gone.

My Catholic priest, Father Larry Swink, delivered a homily on Sunday that I told him would make headlines. In the toughest sermon I have ever heard from a pulpit, he attacked the Obama Administration as evil, even demonic, and warned of religious persecution ahead. What was also newsworthy about the sermon was that he cited The Washington Post in agreement—not on the subject of the Obama Administration being evil, but on the matter of its abridgment of the constitutional right to freedom of religion.

What is happening is extraordinary and unprecedented. The Catholic Church is in open revolt against the Obama Administration, with Fr. Swink noting from the pulpit that priests across the archdiocese were joining the call on Sunday to rally Catholics to resistance against the U.S. Government. He said we are entering a time of religious persecution and that Catholics and others will have to make a final decision about which side they are on.

The issue is what the Catholic Bishops have called a “literally unconscionable” edict by the Obama Administration demanding that sterilization, abortifacients and contraception be included in virtually all health plans.

At a time when the media are full of reports about who is ahead and behind in the polls, and who will win the next Republican presidential primary, this incredible uprising in the Catholic Church is something that could not only overshadow the political campaign season, but also may have a major impact on the ultimate outcome—if Republicans know how to handle it. This matter goes beyond partisan politics to the growing perception of an unconstitutional Obama Administration assault on religious freedom. To hear the Catholic Bishops and Priests describe it, our constitutional republic and our freedoms hang in the balance.

The administration claims there is a religious exemption in the mandate, but the bishops say it is so narrow that it fails to cover the vast majority of faith-based organizations, including Catholic hospitals, universities and service organizations that help millions every year. “Ironically,” they say, “not even Jesus & his disciples would have qualified.”

The bishops go on, “Now that the Administration has refused to recognize the Constitutional conscience rights of organizations and individuals who oppose the mandate, the bishops are now urging Catholics and others of good will to fight this unprecedented attack on conscience rights and religious liberty.”

Interestingly, The Washington Post, as Father Swink indicated, agrees with the bishops. The paper said, “In this circumstance, requiring a religiously affiliated employer to spend its own money in a way that violates its religious principles does not make an adequate accommodation for those deeply held views. Having recognized the principle of a religious exemption, the administration should have expanded it.”
So why would the administration pick a major fight with the Catholic Church?

The separation of Church and state clause is often referenced by the judicial branch as a wall between government and religion as Thomas Jefferson wrote in his 1802 letter to the Danbury Baptists. The argument for the First Amendment freedom of religion clause was to keep government out of churches and to prevent government from establishing a national religion or church. It was not to keep religion out of government. Government has crossed the line, it is a direct attack on every religious institution not just the Catholic Church. If you do not believe this you know nothing about the history of the Constitution and our founders.

What our dictatorial executive branch is doing to the Catholic Church forcing a mandate on them to comply with their demands is no different than deciding observant Jews will be denied Kosher food. Think about that folks. It does not matter what your religious beliefs or lack thereof, if the tyrannical government can decide against the teachings of one religious group then they can decide how all of us are to believe, behave and worship or not worship. I am not Catholic, I am protestant but I stand with the Catholics, Mormons, Jews and any religious group who oppose tyranny and the socialist/marxist president.

Be prepared, very prepared. This corrosive dictatorial consolidation of power and absolute disregard of Constitutional government and the Rule of Law is just the beginning. It will get much worse unless we have a radical transformation soon and it must be this year or we lose as a nation because we will choose sides and the unspeakable may begin.

It now appears 2012 will be a good year. Folks, no need to worry any longer. If you have been preparing for calamity you can now breathe easier, even begin to use up your stockpile of food and fuel. Don’t worry about buying those additional firearms and ammo, you won’t need it. We now have the President supporting and defending the Constitution.

All we need now is jobs and a thriving economy. That will happen in time as green marxism catches fire and we get rid of evil fossil fuels. Dear Leader and his underlings are working hard to pick winners and losers in the economy. We also no longer have to be concerned about the education of our children or grandchildren. We can just turn them over to the government and the union educators will take care of that for us especially with more money scheduled to be spent on education by Colorado even with the State Constitutional constraints on how money is to be raised. It appears they may be able to increase taxes without ballot initiatives. That too, is OK. It wastes our time and the lawmakers, legislatures, regulators and enforcers have more perfect information than we have so they know best. That pesky TABOR amendment is now dead with the recent decision of a hand picked Colorado Judicial Circuit Court judge has decided the Governor and State Legislature has done it all wrong in balancing the budget for the past few years at the whim of a few leftist activists who believe they know what is best.

In Pueblo County we no longer have to be concerned about voting on tax or bond initiatives. A new method to raise money without us having to do that pesky chore, voting, has been discovered by the wise and fearless County Commission. We owe a big thank you to the Honorable Jeff Chostner, the Honorable Anthony Nunez and the Honorable John Cordova. They have been called the Three Stooges and that is insulting to them. They are more like the Marx Brothers. Certificates of Participation, to raise unlimited funds for such projects as the great palace now known as the Judicial Complex. Thank goodness they are using only union labor to build the Complex, estimated to cost between $51 million and $60 million because we all know common construction workers are completely unqualified to do such a project. Thank goodness our leaders know to use only highly qualified and skilled certified union labor because using non-union labor workers would be dangerous to public safety, even catastrophic. Aren’t we slow learners.

I have more good news. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Sen. Udall, Sen. Bennett, Governor Hickenlooper, Colorado State Agricultural Director John Salazar and a slew of other very important and knowledgeable people much smarter and educated than common citizens recently pow-wowed at Adams State College in Alamosa, the San Luis Valley, to formulate a plan for a huge Hispanic National Park in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado to acknowledge, enshrine and celebrate an identified ethnic group, who have endured centuries of discrimination, for their heritage and contributions to our nation. They want to include Mexicans in this plan with Hispanics, Latinos, Chicanos, Criollos, Mestizos, even those who reside here without proper documentation. I believe they have reached a consensus that even evil old whiteys (AKA Tea Party which means Tax Evading Anglos), radical right wing extremists clinging to their guns and Bibles, and other ethnic and racial groups can visit the park once it is open. What a windfall, living in Southern Pueblo County will put me within walking distance because Huerfano County is included in the plan and I live about 1/2 mile from the Huerfano County line. What a blessing as time passes and vehicles become more cost prohibitive to own and drive. Now we will have a new gadzillion dollar park for the people we can use when Dear Leaders give us permission.

Now I can go about my business of being retired after having been up against the wall all my life making a living. It is comforting and soothing to know government money will flow to my family for retirement and all my medical needs will be taken care of because Obama Care is being implemented and as I get older it will be free for all of us including my children and grandchildren. What a wonderful socialist country our great Dear Leader is building for us with the collaboration of our elected and appointed officials.

There is so much more to write but I don’t know where to begin. Dear Leader and his band of Wonderful People have everything under control, including the Iran problem as well as those pesky Israeli Jews. Hopefully they will give Israel to the Religion of Peace for their use and banish Jews forever. Isn’t the Jew problem the root of all our problems? Maybe the Christian problem needs to be addressed soon. Be patient, it will as we become more secular and atheist. What a country. All it will take is for us to trust and obey our leaders.

This is wild and crazy. I am studying ‘municipal authoritarianism’ that is sweeping the nation. Here is a good example:

Residents of the Arizona town that has become a YouTube sensation after police forcibly removed a woman speaking at a recent public meeting are now experiencing firearms confiscation by the government.

The stunning action is taking place in Quartzsite, Ariz., where Town Councilman Joe Winslow has prompted the seizure of guns from local gem dealer and online entrepreneur Michael Roth because Roth allegedly glared at the councilman, blocked his entrance to Town Hall and called him a “turd.”

Karen Slaughter, the elected justice of the peace for the region, issued a harassment injunction against Roth on behalf of Winslow, the lawmaker who called for the silencing of pet groomer and publisher Jennifer Jones in the infamous video.

Winslow said he has been flooded with several hundred emails from Americans not happy about his demand for the removal of Jones from speaking, as he called her “disruptive.”

“They’re contacting people all over the country with similar political beliefs and that’s why we had to declare a state of emergency, and Mr. Roth is involved in that,” Winslow said.

We are totalitarian from the top down, from the bottom up, and from the inside out.
