I really wish celebrities would earn trust at lower levels of government instead of making the mad dash to the oval office. It’s pretty much just an exercise in self-embarrassment if you have no clue how to run a campaign, even as a joke campaign, if you never even had a shot to begin with. And an incredible waste of money.

You’re misrepresenting the point of the article. He never says that debt is not a problem. Quote: ”
Now, the fact that federal debt isn’t at all like a mortgage on America’s future doesn’t mean that the debt is harmless”

He says that in the short-term it is not the most pressing issue (unemployment is a bigger problem) and that the middle-and-long term it is a problem but not a catastrophic one. He claims that with economic growth and a more taxes (in the future), our current debt-to-GDP would not be a catastrophe. Now, this would be wrong if we (like japan) were to go through a decade or so of zero economic growth. He could just be wrong about this, which is different from saying that he is stupid or lying.

Good start for an endorsement, but Snoop Dogg should put his money where his mouth is then and max out a donation to the campaign, then go ahead and throw more money into a super PAC for Ron Paul or just for marijuana legalization efforts if that’s all he’s inclined to support financially.

The only one in favor of war with Iran are the agent provocateurs who mastermind the confrontations and try to make Iran over-react with force. Thankfully they are not the ones escalating, but instead it’s the U.S. who is clearly over-stepping authority by targeted killing of scientists (how would you like it if Iranians were trying to kill scientists here? They aren’t.)

This whole administration needs to be tossed out and some people need to be tossed in jail for war crimes stretching back as far as the eye can see. SICK BASTARDS.

Never forget that there’s currently a warn on poverty as well, that LBJ started in 1964. As is typical of the government jokesters who declare wars on words and ideas: Poverty is exploding.

The beltway is really just a giant bubble of successful and highly educated policy wonks.
They may have anecdotes galore about the hard life, but they don’t
really have that much personal experience in it (aside from their own moral
poverty which always seems to bubble forth).

Sure. You move to Washington, DC caring deeply about an issue. You take a job at the Pentagon or the Department of Labor or something. You get a mortgage and some kids, or just a lifestyle you enjoy. You slowly become convinced that the only way your issue is going to improve is if your budget increases and you get more people working under you. Maybe your issue is best served by the government’s paying for your Masters degree. Everyone you know and work with endorses these views, and you become convinced of them. The dollars that could have been ameliorating poverty in the inner cities end up going to your mortgage in Bethesda or Northern Virginia, making all of us poorer.

NO More ‘ATTACHING” bills to other bills and legislation. We pay them to weigh in in on each piece of legislation.
As our economy’s health is tied to energy, I ask you this-Why is America exporting oil? our gas prices are over $3.00 a gallon. Why do we give special privileges to foreign companies to operate and import within our country when their home countries will not do the same? Why is China still being given most favored trade status when China limits American imports into their country? Why are we giving money away to other countries when we as American are passing down multi-generational DEBT to our children and great grandchildren? Why do we as seem to be forgetting that we Pay those people in Washington to ‘GOVERN’ and Not to ‘RULE’. We are not ants and serfs! We stand idly by as more and more assertive and oppressive legislation is passed in the name of ‘TERRORISM’,sucking away our liberties and Giving more and more power to our EMPLOYEES in Washington.
How many congressmen and Senators can actually quote the Bill of Rights and extrapolate on the meaning. Follow the money trail in Washington and you will find the game called corruption. The USA government is set up like a Corporation, You have the board of directors(Senators). The shareholders(By proxy-Congress) The treasurer,the vice president.The president and all the executives keeping it running. The workforce(govt. Workers)
I ask you,what company in America could possibly stay in business if it had accumulated the debt the US Govt. has? What company has employees who gives themselves a Raise as they see fit?
