I’ve read the rules he signed over at HotAir and at the Daily Caller, and there’s plenty to ridicule. My personal favorite is the rule that requires pediatricians to snitch on the parents of their patients, to let the authorities know how many guns are in the house and to label such ownership as child abuse. I may retch.

On farcebook, I got into a bit of a discussion about LaPierre's statement that the Corps of Discovery had a semiauto (it did, the Girandoni, but it was an air rifle), and wondered if we could make a modern Girandoni (it was reputed to be able to kill a buck), using a HP air reservoir and ceramic/composite composition, so that metal detectors wouldn't spot it: think of an assault BB gun, using more lethal ammo. Just thinking aloud, not enough round tuits to actually build one of the damn things, so you BATFE types can go bother someone else.

Obama has broken the contract veterans had with Department of Defense, Veterans Administration and the Federal Government in general. We had an implicit contract that if we did our assignments with honor we would have future access to health care including mental health without fear of any consequences and have total privacy as other citizens enjoy. Obama has broken that trust because he has ordered this information be shared across federal agencies and the consequences will be severe because veterans will not use the services.

I won’t.

There will be many in the active military, retired and veterans who will walk away from any possibility of mental health care. This can be terribly damaging to veterans and their families. We are not freaks, murderers or monsters yet we are being demonized.

This will include active duty seeking mental health services within the military, Veterans Centers and Veterans Administration mental health clinics.

Too bad for the veterans as Obama has decided what was once considered private and intimate conversations with psychiatrists and counselors can now be released to other federal agencies. This can be very damaging to veterans and disallow them from legally owning firearms as visiting mental health facilities will be shared with federal law enforcement agencies. That is the goal of Obama.

I am an infantry combat veteran. Never will I visit any mental health facility run by the government.
