I feel sad for the lady complaining of the protest sign in the parade. It is unfortunate that her expectation is that everyone will observe this holiday the same way in a "free" country and this different way makes her sad and angry. Tolerance trumps getting sad and angry. One also learns more.

Has it occurred to anyone, that "Ms Szoc", might be(and I hope is), a DOD controlled sock puppet? Or, the letter, is a tasteless gag, committed by some sophomoric fool. The surname Szoc is not a common one, and the fact is, this homophonic(not a slur to gays) coincidence, is highly unlikely.
I was deprived the privilege of knowing my Uncle Joe, by his murder at the hands of governments, at Bastogne, Belgium. My father, William, was closer to Uncle Joe, than his other brothers, and was himself a veteran of WW2, having served as an army private, in the pacific theater. My father, universally condemned war, and to his dying day, hated the army, who killed his beloved brother. Do not dare question the patriotism, of my father, because he loved his brother, and not his government.
I for one, because I support the cause of veterans so much, am glad that the protesters oppose the wars, and are making their position known. The cessation of hostilities, will guarantee that in the future, there will be more living veterans, and fewer dead heroes. See proof below.

Killing veterans, is not an effective way, of providing them with support.
    War kills veterans.
Ergo, war does not support veterans. QED

Let the flaming begin.
